A basic chili: satisfying enough. Despite coming from this cookbook, it's doesn't seem Indian.
The dish takes ages to make.
The picture in the book shows more mushrooms than what my result seemed to have. Did they get the recipe wrong, or simply pick out the mushrooms and put them on top for photographic reasons?

I've made this quite a few times now and found it a great rustic comfort food. I've tended to add a few extra mushrooms and definitely cut them into chunky portions. It does take ages to make but that in itself is quietly satisfying. Not a recipe for those that like nouvelle cuisine.
